City Twice-a-Week Trash Collection

Starting December 2, 2024, the City of Philadelphia will increase trash collection frequency to two times per week for residents within the Phase 1 boundaries of Center City and South Philadelphia. This includes all residents within the Sports Complex Special Services District.

The second collection day will correspond to the area’s current trash and recycling collection day:

Tuesday – second pickup on Friday
Wednesday – second pickup on Saturday
Thursday – second pickup on Monday

The second pickup day is for trash only. There will be no recycling collected on the second pickup day.

Also, there will be no second collections during a holiday week.
